Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN (KAY) SHEPPARD With her family at her side, Kay Sheppard, passed away at the Grace Hospital on Sunday, October 2, 2005. Kay was predeceased by her first husband Milo; daughter Louise and parents Kathleen and Jack Chester. She will be lovingly remembered by her family: her husband Fritz Herkert; her sons, Rick (Kim) and Wes (Gail); son-in-law Walter (Nancy) McLarty; her brother Jack (Bev) Chester; grandchildren, Ian (Cindy), Tara (Jeffrey), Chelsey and Evan; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Connor, Emily and Bethany . Kay is also survived by Fritz's children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other relatives and dear friends especially Ruth. Kay was born in Winnipeg on January 16, 1931, she grew up in Charleswood and moved to Oak Bluff when she married Milo in 1949. They farmed together and raised their family at Oak Bluff. They were very involved in the community and enjoyed Square Dancing all over North America. After Milo's death she shared her life with Fritz, camping with the Wandering Wheels RV and Trailer Club, playing shuffle board, travelling and gardening. Visitation will be held at the Starbuck United Church, Starbuck, MB at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 6. Funeral service will be held at the Assiniboia Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Ave. and Rouge Road, Winnipeg at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 7. Interment and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kay may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Assoc., 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6.
